Acceptance of Privacy Policy

 Welcome to MelissaGonzales.org (“we” or “us”) and our Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”). This Privacy Policy is important and affects your legal rights, so please read carefully.

By accessing or using www.melissagonzales.org and various related websites and services (collectively, the “Site”), you agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy and all of the terms incorporated herein by reference.  This Privacy Policy describes the types of personal information we collect through the Site and how we collect, use, and share that information.

Our processing of personal data, such as your name, address, e-mail address, or telephone number, shall be undertaken consistent with the requirements of applicable privacy laws.  The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to provide to users and potential users of our website information about the nature, scope, and purpose of the personal data we collect, use and process and to advise data subjects of their rights.  Whether we serve as the data controller or processor, we have implemented numerous technical and organizational measures to ensure the protection of personal data processed through the Site.  However, Internet-based data transmissions may in principle have security gaps, so please understand that absolute protection is not assured.

By using the Site, you accept and expressly agree to our practices surrounding the collection, use, and sharing of personal information provided by you in the manner described in this Privacy Policy.  If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, you cannot, and we do not authorize you to, access, browse, or use the Site.

Personal Information We Collect

When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information.”

We collect Device Information using the following technologies:

Additionally, when you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through the Site, we collect certain information from you, including your name, billing address, shipping address, payment information (including credit card numbers), email address, and phone number. We refer to this information as “Order Information.”

When we talk about “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we are talking both about Device Information and Order Information.

How do we use your personal information?

We use the Order Information that we collect generally to fulfill any orders placed through the Site (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations). Additionally, we use this Order Information to:

  • Screen our orders for potential risk or fraud; and

  • When in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services.

We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).

Sharing Your Personal Information

We share your Personal Information with third parties to help us use your Personal Information, as described above. You can also opt-out of Google Analytics here: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Currently, our payment processor is Stripe. Stripe uses and processes your complete payment information in accordance with Stripe’s privacy policy.

Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant, or other lawful requests for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

Do Not Track

Please note that we do not alter our Site’s data collection and use practices when we see a Do Not Track signal from your browser.

Your Rights

If you are a European resident, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact us through the contact information below.

Additionally, if you are a European resident we note that we are processing your information in order to fulfill contracts we might have with you (for example if you make an order through the Site), or otherwise to pursue our legitimate business interests listed above. Additionally, please note that your information will be transferred outside of Europe, including to Canada and the United States.

Data Retention

When you place an order through the Site, we will maintain your Order Information for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information.

Minors

The Site is not intended for use by children and children under the age of 13 are prohibited from using the Site.  We do not knowingly collect any information from children, nor is the Site directed to children.  If you are under 13, please do not attempt to register for the Site or send any Personal Information about yourself to us. 

By accessing, using, and/or submitting information to or through the Site, you represent that you are not younger than age 13.  If we learn that we have received any information directly from a child under age 13 without his/her parent’s written consent, we will use that information only to respond directly to that child (or his/her parent or legal guardian) to inform the child that he/she cannot use the Site, and we will subsequently delete that information.  If you believe that a child under 13 may have provided us with Personal Information, please contact us.

If you are between age 13 and the age of majority in your place of residence, you may use the Site only with the consent of or under the supervision of your parent or legal guardian.  If you are a parent or legal guardian of a minor child, you may, in compliance with the Agreement, use the Site on behalf of such minor child.  Any information that you provide us while using the Site on behalf of your minor child will be treated as Personal Information as otherwise provided herein.

If you use the Site on behalf of another person, regardless of age, you agree that we may contact you for any communication made in connection with providing the Site or any legally required communications.  You further agree to forward or share any such communication with any person for whom you are using the Site on behalf.

Changes

We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons.
